The Rusk Restorative Youth Justice (RRYJ) program is moving into the UW Extension office! The county board has a vision that 4-H Youth Development programming could have an important impact on youth involved with RRYJ. This is a very exciting change because it will allow Cory to extend 4-H programming to more young people, especially those in the at-risk population. Most people know RRYJ as Teen Court, but it actually encompasses five different programs: Teen Court, Traffic Court, KnoW Drugs and Alcohol class, FOCUS group and Victim Impact Panel. Currently this is a 50% position, but will move to a 100% position in the coming months. This means that we’ll have two people working on youth programming in the UW-Extension office—great news for the young people of Rusk County!
