Recycling Ordinance and Compliance Plan

The RUSK COUNTY RECYCLING ORDINANCE applies to all residences, multi-family, commercial and industrial entities in the Rusk County Responsible Unit.  The ordinance requires separation of garbage from recyclable items.  Penalties for violating this ordinance can be fines not less than $10 or more than $1,000 for each violation.

DNR  has a shared responsilibity with local units of government to enforce the recycling law.  In general, the DNR’s implementation of the recycling law emhasizes achieving compliance through education, technical, and financial assistance.  The Rusk County Compliance Plan outlines steps taken in order to reach compliance.
